The NOVX Systems Privacy Policy was last updated on October 16, 2020.
This privacy policy applies to NOVX Systems Corporation, www.novxsystems.com and all of its products including, PatientVu, PatientVu Mobile, MyPatientVu, PatientVu Kiosk and EZVu (collectively ‘Sites and Products’). This document sets out our policy re the gathering and use of personal information and personal health information (‘Personal Information’). NOVX Systems is committed to providing secure Sites and Products. NOVX Systems complies with all relevant federal and provincial legislation. Protecting the personal information of our users and patients is of vital importance to NOVX Systems.
Your use of our Sites and Products signifies your acknowledgement and consent to this Privacy Policy. Should you not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not continue to use our Sites and Products. Your continued use of the Sites and Products demonstrates your acceptance of these terms and any changes in effect at the time of use.
Commitment to Security
Applications and systems hosted by NOVX Systems all have robust physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in place to help prevent unauthorized access and maintain data security. NOVX Systems adopts security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, such as retaining information in secure facilities and making personal information accessible only to authorized employees strictly on a need-to-know basis.
Storage of Information
Personal information you share with us is stored on our database servers at secure data centers in Canada operated by NOVX Systems or qualified third parties who have contractually agreed to equal or stronger privacy policies. We carefully review their policies to ensure they are in compliance with relevant provincial and federal regulations. For text messaging, email and credit card processing, NOVX Systems may use a third-party service provider that may store information related to these services outside of Canada. In that eventuality the data may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. At no time does NOVX Systems store health information outside of Canada.
Disclosure of Information
NOVX Systems does not disclose Personal Information to third parties except:
- To comply with legal requirements such as a law, regulation, warrant, subpoena or court order
- To deliver its products and services and where the third party has equal or stronger privacy policies and procedures in place
- In the case of MyPatientVu, PainQuILT and PatientVu Kiosk information entered by a user may be shared with their health care provider who is subject to privacy regulation
- With your prior written consent.
Under no circumstances does NOVX Systems sell, trade, barter, exchange or disclose for consideration any Personal Information.
In the eventuality of a merger or sale of NOVX Systems or its products, the receiving organization will be contractually obliged to maintain equal or stronger policies. You will be notified via email and/or prominent notice on our website of any change in ownership or uses of your Personal Information.
Use of Personal Information
Any information gathered or stored by our Sites and Products is used to deliver the services offered by those Sites and Products. It may also be used by NOVX Systems anonymously and in aggregate to improve our Sites and Products. It is also used to send you notices (in some cases relating to patient safety, for example) relating to our Sites and Products and, optionally, our organization.
Choice and Access to Personal Information
If your Personal Information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may correct, update it by logging into your account and making the appropriate changes. To deactivate a specific user’s account please email Customer Support at novxsupport@novxsystems.com.
Use of Cookies
NOVX Systems’ websites and its products may use a ‘cookie’. A cookie is a small file placed on the user’s computer or other devices. Such cookies are used uniquely to improve the user’s experience. They do not collect personal information. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the applicable settings on your computer. However, if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of the Site or Product.

Accountability
NOVX Systems has designated a Privacy Officer who is accountable for compliance with privacy legislation and these policies. All NOVX Systems employees receive privacy training and understand their responsibility to protect your health care information.
Updates to this Policy
NOVX Systems regularly reviews our privacy policies and practices and, from time to time, will update our Privacy Policy. If we make changes, we will post the new version on this website.
